The ballot itself must either be personally delivered to the board of elections no later than the close of polls on election day, or postmarked by a governmental postal service not later than the day of the election and received no later than 7 days after the election.

Mail or deliver this form to the Suffolk County Board of Elections at least 25 days before the election you want to vote in. Suffolk County will notify you that you are registered to vote.

How do I update my voter information or change my party enrollment?

To update information, please file with the Suffolk County Board of Elections a new, New York State Voter Registration form, and include any information you wish to update. You can download the form from the Suffolk County Board of Election’s website:



or obtain a form at your local post office or library or at the Suffolk County Board of Elections.  If you only wish to change your residence address for a move within Suffolk County, you may do so by sending the Suffolk County Board of Elections a letter in lieu of filing a new registration form. Please include your name, address, date of birth, and original signature.
